These days with pop ups and pop unders that are so obtrusive and obnoxious, that little bar at the top of the blog is very simple, and gets the message across just the same.
What best is that you can customize it to say anything you want. You can encourage people to sign up for your list, you can direct them to an affiliate site, a poll, or a particular post you just made, or you can just type Happy Birthday to one of your readers!
It is so simple to use. Just activate the plugin, add what you want it to say and add the link.. no programming, no coding.. just a few simple steps and you are done.
Here’s what you can do with the advanced settings page for Stripe Ads:
• Create an unlimited amount of stripe ads and rotate them
• Choose the frequency of display and give each ad it’s own weight
• Customize the look and feel of the ads to match your blog’s layout
• Choose to have it static, or to hover at the top of you blog while scrolling down
• Advertise an affiliate link, links to your own products, or special “timed” offers and promotions

1I have that bar going across the top of my site too. Pretty cool.
I find it’s very unobtrusive and was extremely easy to setup.
I don’t like pop-ups or pop-unders but this little bar hasn’t bothered me when I see it on other sites so I decided to give it a try.
I chose to set the most weight for the ads on my bar to getting more subscribers to my RSS feed.

2Is there a version for Blogger users? I first come across this little bar at John Chow’s site. Now it seems that this little bar is quite widely use by Wordpress users. I hope there will be one for Blogger soon.

3Hi James!
Glad to see that you use the plugin as well. It is much better in my opionion as well rather than a pop up or something. Those can really drive you crazy even though they seem to be be fairly effective for some people.
So now that you have been using it, do you notice an increase in subscribers?
I think using for just that purpose alone is super valuable. We will have to give it a shot. Thanks for the info there.

4Hi Sksee,
I have not yet seen a plugin similar to the Stripe Ad available for Blogger. Wordpress really has so many amazing plugins. That is one of the big reasons I am such a huge wordpress fan. (more like obsessed ;) ha.
If you are familiar with HTML, then you could place a solid bar/table with a link in it at the top of your blogger site. It would be static and would not move as you go down the page, but it would be something if you ever wanted to give it a shot.

5Hi again Elle.
I check at FeedBurner and since I put up the Ad Strip on my MMO site I have moved from 23 subscribers to 37. So it’s increasing by a couple a day.
I currently get about 200 unique visitors a day so that’s not too bad.
Right now I have only three ads and have set the weight for my subscriber’s ad so that it shows more than the other two. I might just set it so that no other ads show for about a month and see what happens.
