Well… we have talked about adding adsense, CPA offers and affiliate programs as a way to make money from your blog already, so I will try not to make this too boring and go over what we have already said, so I will instead tell you ways to actually use these programs to make money from them, ok?

For example purposes we will use a niche blog about beauty, but these tactics will work for almost any niche.

There are a few ways to incorporate ideas and products into your site. Some of them you might already be doing, but not actually making money from them yet.

Ok, so lets say perhaps on your beauty blog you review a few products, and found one of them to be outstanding.

Example: these nail polish remover pads for just $1!!

You find them to be superb quality for the price. The are easy and portable and for $1 heck.. you can buy 3 packs and be good for the whole summer.

So while you write about this product you just love- why not make some money off it right?

Well that picture is an affiliate link. It goes directly to the website- where almost all the make-up is just $1! Now.. you might say, ok really elle.. what kind of commission would I make on $1… well.. not much. But who buys just one thing from a beauty store?? (sorry.. girl in me talking) Realistically, most people spend $15-$50 on this site and I make a 6% commission.

So, while it is not huge numbers… making $1.50 from one sale can still add up. And if you include affiliate links to other products and or services you like and recommend- then each time you make just a little bit more.

You are not hard selling anyone into anything, you are merely offering your opinion of a product or service. It does not add additional cost to you or the customer. The customer in most cases would never even know it’s an affiliate link unless you told them- which sometimes I do. Even sometimes these places offer coupon codes that you can offer up to your readers for an added bonus!

In fact here- FREE SHIPPING on $45 order. Coupon:SHIP45

That is what a coupon looks like! So now.. not only am I providing my readers with a quality review, a real opinion, but I am also offering addition value by providing a coupon if they shop and spend more than $45! They actually had better coupons- I just grabbed one to show.

So, if you have a fishing blog and you review the best rods and reels.. include a picture and your link, or if you have a cooking site and really recommend a favorite pan, include a link to it. And the list goes on for almost any site! Honestly.. if you have a site and you are having problems finding ways to monetize it- email me! Let me know… and I will help!

Where do you get those links again?

Here are a few places you can sign up for free.

LinkShare.com

You can also check with your favorite store online. Perhaps you have a travel site and refer people to Sandals Resort a lot. Go visit there website and at the very bottom of the site you will see an affiliate link. Sandals is part of the www.cj.com affiliate network, so the link will take you there and you can sign up- for free and promote the resort.

You can also include banners on your website and more.

Sandals Resorts

You can also use CPA offers or adsense as well as a means of monetizing.

So- a quickie on how to actually add the links in:

Just copy the code that they give you once you have selected the banner, picture, or text link and place it directly into your post- IN THE CODE box not the standard visual box.

So, in wordpress 2.3 and below, you will just click on the code box- it won’t look much different than the standard one; paste your code and then go back to the visual box. You can type normally around the link and move the picture to where you like as well.

Once it is in there- that’s it! Nothing much more for you to do but write!

Now… one quick word of advice. If you just start adding product after product of stuff onto a blog without much real advice and content, people will see past that.

People are there for a reason- to read your advice, to solve their problem, to understand something a bit better, etc. Most people don’t come to your blog to shop (unless you actually have a shopping blog).

So, just remember, most people don’t enjoy being “sold” to.. they want quality, they want honesty.. and if you can recommend a product that solves a problem and you recommend it- then it works!!
